Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Day 8.
It was the kind of day that is hard to give you an idea of the vibe with just words. So brace yourselves for a photo tour.
We left Virginia around 8:30, and after a very meaningful sharing time, made our way to a Midwest phenomenon: Culver’s. However, five unnamed people headed for a different kind of experience at Cracker Barrel. We’re not sure why.
The afternoon found us splitting up into two groups. Those who get hyped over hurling plastic circles through the air were dropped off at a disc golf course, where rumors of Mathias’s talents came circling back. Legend has it he got an ace, but I only have a picture of him beside a basket looking happy. Seems legitimate.
The rest of us headed into Winston-Salem, where despite many historic buildings being closed, a guided tour was still had. However, the tour guide being Jo, most of the information was probably incorrect (but at least it was in a British accent). We ended up at a coffee shop before walking back to the bus.

The First ARP Church, Statesville, NC, was a lovely space, even if it wasn’t the easiest to sing in comfortably. The audience was very attentive and thankful. There were more community attendees than our previous concerts and they were a joy to sing for. Additionally, a good portion of the audience were major Karl fans.
Rumors are swirling around about a haunted Victorian Airbnb that four of the ladies stayed at, but I’ll leave that for another time.
Until then,
JoAna Miller

Out of contexts quotes from the day:
“Burnout kind of suits me.”
“In Mennonite culture, women don’t usually attack”.
“ Where are the holiness cops when you need them?”
“I guess you guys wear other things too!”
“He’s a Colorado hippie who loves wolves and makes cheesecakes.”
