On this beautiful Lancaster Saturday, we proceeded with a full day of repertoire recording. It began naturally with vocal warm ups and stretches, and then prayer. Prayer truly is a significant way of connection with our Creator, and singing/music is a form of that prayer. Singing must be in a spirit of prayer and communion with God. We hope and trust that these recordings will assist and enable God’s children to worship and commune with Him, our Father.

A blog post on recording kind of explains itself: getting the feel of each song, then running several takes. We were privileged to be able to record in a beautiful location, The Trust, in Lancaster City. For lunch we enjoyed walking through central market and exploring various cuisines around.

Today truly felt blessed by God. I know and experienced the strength He gave our bodies and voices to hold out throughout the day. Even though we know the recording won’t be perfect, the first significant factor is if God’s blessing is on it. Secondly, if it brings glory to Him. If these are present, God can use it.
When asked what her favorite part about recording was, Vienna shared: “singing through songs start to finish.” It truly is a gift to embrace the songs and sing them with no pauses.
I also would like to give a huge shout out to our amazing conductor, manager, and recording engineer. The effort and focus they gave was incredible and a blessing to the ensemble.
We wrapped up a little after 5, and most of the ensemble members headed to Cliff and Trina’s for pizza and chilling together.

On a lighter note: ensemble members shared some of their current statuses throughout the day.
