Laudate Mennonite Ensemble is officially in session for our 2023 season! 16 singers, many familiar and a few new, got to know each other a bit ahead of the 9 AM beginning time on yesterday.
This year marks a significant transition for Laudate as we welcome Lyle Stutzman to the team as our conductor. We shared a few laughs as Lyle reflected on various connections to each member in the group as part of his own introduction. We are grateful for Lyle's leadership, thorough approach to preparation, and his engaging rehearsal routine that makes it a joy to sing!
We kick off Laudate 2023 with a reminder to ourselves, as modeled by David in Psalm 103: "Bless the Lord my soul, all that is within me bless his Holy name." We pray that our practice, music, and relationships during this time can do just that for both singer and audience.
Check out the sneak peak below to give you a glimpse into our first moments of taking this song from individual practice to a whole-group experience. Also, as you will see in the photo, we are privileged to have wonderful cooks working on our behalf to make amazing food which provides the fuel and fellowship needed to make it all happen!
