Jesus said of himself, "I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will have the light of life."  This CD is an illlumination of Jesus as light.  Images from the poetry, the sounds and colors of the music, the vitality of many cultures joined by the birth of the Light of the World tells us of this Baby.  "Thou shalt know him when he comes," said an anonymous poet; we grow into an understanding of the One who came to make things visible, to illumine the entire world and the innermost depths of the soul, to set us alight with the Gospel of love, to reveal what is hidden.  It is our prayer that this music will shed some small light of its own on that wondrous mystery proclaimed by the Apostle John when he wrote,
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came into being through him,
and without him not one thing came into being.
What has come into being in him was life, 
and the life was the light of all people.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not overcome it.
