Ensemble Audition Application

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in Laudate Mennonite Ensemble. This cover letter will give you information concerning our proposed tour for summer of 2023.

Please send the application as soon as possible, considering September 5th as your deadline. Applications received after the deadline will be considered but given lower priority. You can expect to be notified whether or not you have been accepted by November 17.

Please understand, that there are a limited number of openings available for each voice part. The nature of this application is that some cannot be accepted.

Rehearsal & Tour

Rehearsal is scheduled to take place in Lancaster, PA, with a tour immediately following rehearsal. The dates for rehearsal and tour are July 19 - July 30, 2023. The cost for this tour will be $300. Consider this an estimated amount, but it will not exceed this amount barring an extreme change in plans. If you are a college student, school teacher, or music educator of some kind, you are not obligated to pay this fee.

Musical Preparation

Singers are committed to learning pitches, rhythms, and text largely on their own. Rehearsal is primarily for perfecting ensemble technique and interpretation of the songs. Some memorization will be required.

Mission Statement

The vision/mission for Laudate is, first of all, to create beautiful music that draws us to worship our Creator. Secondly, to create an atmosphere where musicians and educators can be challenged, refreshed, and inspired.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Laudate Mennonite Ensemble Committee
